Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty
In addition to eye drops, Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) can provide a safe and effective means of treating glaucoma. During this procedure, brief pulses of light energy are applied to the drainage tissue (trabecular meshwork) of the eye. These pulses of energy activate a process which helps the eye drain intraocular fluid more efficiently, thus lowering the eye’s pressure.

Laser Peripheral Iridotomy
In narrow angle and angle closure glaucoma, a YAG laser is used to create a full-thickness microscopic hole in the peripheral iris in order to prevent more serious glaucoma damage from occurring, or to halt an acute attack of glaucoma.

Diode Laser Cyclophotocoagulation
In some patients, medications, laser trabeculoplasty and incisional surgery all fail to control the eye pressure. In these intractable situations, a Diode Laser Cyclophotocoagulation can be performed to lower the eye pressure. This procedure is often performed under sedation in the operating room.
